This is where I will complain, whine, and brag about my undergraduate work and veterinary experience as I approach time to apply to vet school!!
Interview Question #6

Do you think medicine is an art or a science?

Hmm, this is definitely a tough one.

art-the creation of beautiful or thought-provoking works
science- any activity that is the object of careful study or that is carried out according to a developed method

I mean, in a way, medicine is an art. I think it's artistic when a doctor can analyze a client's health, diagnose the patient with a condition using that analyzation, and then treat the condition with medication. It's definitely something wonderful and beautiful and special. It's something you can make your own; everyone's minds work differently in order to acheive a goal. Researchers have to experiment with theories like painters experiment with color. That makes it art, but in an unconventional way.

BUT, if I had to choose between an art or a science, medicine would definitely be a science. I mean, it involves the sciences of biology, chemistry, parasitology, immunology, etc. Medicine is the word for word definition of science.

Medicine: the art of science
